Abstract
The paper provides a retrospective analysis of 102 cases of pinched (split) concretion of the greater duodenal papilla in patients with complicated cholelithiasis. It has been ascertained that ductal bile α-amylase and lipase activity levels may be predictors of acute pancreatitis in this category of patients. Based on the findings, the authors propose a therapeutic and diagnostic algorithm that comprises the results of conventional clinical, instrumental, and laboratory studies and the data of prediction of acute pancreatitis from the results of estimation of the enzyme spectrum of ductal bile.
