Abstract
Relevance. The last decades in the Russian Federation are fixed by a significant decline in the birth rate, which is determined by changes in family values, attitudes towards the institution of the family of the modern population. The processes of fertility and mortality form the mode of population reproduction and are interconnected with the concept of demographic potential, determine the foundations of economic growth and national security. Separate attempts were made to determine the socio-economic factors that determine the conditions for the formation of reproductive health.
The purpose of the study: was to analyze trends and medical and demographic determinants of the birth rate of the population in the Chechen Republic.
Results. Medical and demographic processes on the territory of the Chechen Republic were characterized by an unfavorable general trend for the region as a whole over a 10-year period from 2009 to 2020. Among 40-44-year-olds, the birth rate was 3 times lower than in the previous age interval and has steadily decreased by almost two times over 10 years. The lowest due to age were the birth rates of 45-49-year-olds, steadily declining in dynamics from 2010 to 2023.
Conclusion. Thus, on the territory of the Chechen Republic, the negative dynamics of age-specific fertility rates persists, negative stable trends in the decline in fertility have formed in all age intervals. The established data reflect an unfavorable trend in the demographic situation, as well as a decrease in birth rates in relation to the Russian Federation.
Scope of the results. The obtained empirical data can be applied in practical Public Health for the development of state national programs of reproduction and population regulation.
