Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic, recurrent inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract that occurs against the background of a complex interaction between the immune system and the microbiota. In recent years, there has been an increase in the incidence of CD, especially among the young and elderly. This article examines current data on changes in the microbiota in patients with CD, with an emphasis on the elderly. This article analyzes the scientific literature over the past 5 years from the following scientific databases: Medline, PubMed Central, E-library, Cyberleninka. The study showed that dysbiosis of the intestinal microbiota, which is observed in most patients, leads to a decrease in the diversity of bacteria and an increase in pathogenic microorganisms, which is directly related to the worsening of the disease.
