详细

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) is a widely prevalent condition in the global population. Despite its relatively short history of study, sufficient convincing data has accumulated regarding its negative impact on the cardiovascular system. However, the condition of the right heart chambers and the development of pulmonary hypertension in this patient cohort often remain outside the focus of attention due to disturbances in the hemodynamics of the small circulatory loop. Diagnosing right heart involvement in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome is a complex task due to the absence of specific clinical features and the multimorbidity of such patients.

The aim of this review article is to demonstrate the results of original studies and meta-analyses dedicated to examining the structural and functional parameters of the right heart chambers, and to attempt to highlight the multifaceted nature of diagnosing pulmonary hypertension in patients with OSAS.

The literature review was conducted using medical abstract databases: PubMed (MEDLINE), ScienceDirect, and eLibrary.RU.
